Dorma y Victor Ridon, una pareja de filipinos, fueron detenidos en agosto de este año por la grabación de “crush vídeos”, en los que se mostraban a esa mujer y a varias adolescentes torturando animales hasta la muerte. Uno de los vídeos ha sido difundido por internet, y se ve como torturan con extrema crueldad a un pobre perro indefenso, con las patas y la boca atadas (Podeis ver foto adjunta). No es un caso aislado, puesto que lo han hecho con muchos más animales (cachorros de perros, gatos, conejos, ratones..), un total de 68 videos.
En el caso de ir a prisión por maltrato animal, solo serían 6 meses de cárcel, tenemos que hacer presión sobre las autoridades de aquel país escribiéndoles y mostrando nuestra total repulsa e indignación ante estos hechos para que esa pareja de sádicos no queden impunes y la pena sea mucho mayor.
He redactado una carta modelo, va dirigida a CLARO A. ARELLANO (Director General del departamento de juicios y acusación) y ROMEO D. GÁLVEZ (Servicio de Acción), ambos de Filipinas. Al ser el filipino y el inglés los dos idiomas oficiales de ese país, con ayuda de Belen Fugardo (profesora de inglés), hemos traducido la carta (copiar, pegar y enviar solo la carta) para ser destinada a las siguientes direcciones: clarellano@lycos.com , dojac@doj.gov.ph Al final teneis que agregar vuestro Nombre (Name), Apellidos (Surname) y Ciudad y País (City and Country) En el Asunto: We need your attention. Unfortunately, we feel obliged to express our horror regarding the distasteful animal mistreatment and cruelty by the below accused persons. We succesfully captured a video footage and has been disseminated over the Internet.
We refere to the Philipine married couple, Dorma and Victor Ridon, arrested in September by recording "animal abuse videos", in which this woman appeared with several teenagers torturing animals... till their death .
As much as in Spain as abroad, we are aware they will be judged with a maximum penalty of six months for animal mistreatment, which has caused an enormous indignation.
Therefore, we demand a more severe punishment for these ghastly facts.
People like this should not be permitted to go so freely, since they may well mistreat more animals in the future, and it is verified that offenders who commit actions like this are a great danger for humankind.
Sincerely, we would be delighted to be contacting you under very different circumstances, but unfortunately, this matter is so serious it demands extreme urgency, as we are all deeply shocked and appalled about this act.
In this day and age in what we hope to be a civil society we cannot blindly ignore such cruelty to suffering animals.
This matter is now entirely in your capable hands and we hope you will thoroughly consider the case appropriately.
